An encounter with God is more than a moment of emotion, it is a divine interruption that leaves us forever changed. It’s when heaven touches earth, when God steps into our ordinary space and reveals His extraordinary presence. You may not hear thunder or see fire fall, but when God encounters you, something shifts on the inside.
Throughout Scripture, encounters with God marked turning points. Moses encountered God in a burning bush and never returned to being just a shepherd (Exodus 3.) Jacob wrestled with God and walked away with a limp, but also with a new name and identity (Genesis 32:24–30.) Saul encountered Jesus on the road to Damascus and became Paul, a man transformed by grace (Acts 9:1–6.) Every encounter produced change.
Often, we think encounters only happen in dramatic settings, but many encounters come quietly, in prayer, in worship, in surrender, in tears, or even in silence. Sometimes it’s a gentle conviction, a deep peace, a clear word, or a sudden awareness of God’s nearness. You may not realize it in the moment, but afterward you know: "I cannot go back to who I was before."
An encounter with God realigns your heart. What once mattered loses its grip. What once felt impossible becomes filled with hope. Fear gives way to faith. Confusion gives way to clarity. God doesn’t encounter us to entertain us; He encounters us to transform us. The beautiful truth is that God desires to encounter you. He is not distant or reserved for the “super spiritual.” He responds to hunger. He meets those who seek Him with a sincere heart (Jeremiah 29:13.) When you make room for God, He fills the space.
If you’ve been longing for an encounter, don’t chase a feeling, chase His presence. Show up consistently. Open your heart honestly. Lay down distractions. God knows how to meet you exactly where you are.
One encounter can restore your joy.
One encounter can renew your strength.
One encounter can change the direction of your life.
And the same God who encountered them in Scripture is ready to encounter you today.

This is not your typical fast! You can choose what food(s) you're going to fast from. My advice is to fast from the food(s) that has you in a chokehold. Whether it be fast foods, sodas, bread, coffee or energy drinks, the Lord will give you strength! You are allowed to do a Daniel Fast too. Fast for 24 hrs. a day or from 6 AM to 6 PM, skip meals, etc. Let the Holy Spirit help you decide what your 40 days of fasting will look like.
